Lake Apopka Pump Stations & Water Intake

Mt. Dora, FL

St. John’s River Water Management District (SJRWMD) works to ensure clean drinking water and maintain the health of natural water resources in 18 Florida counties. Due to the high levels of phosphorus at Lake Apopka in Mt. Dora, Florida, SJRWMD began restoring the water quality by managing the stormwater runoff into the lake.

These stormwater projects included a water intake structure and two pump stations in which HydroTurf® was chosen for its ability to provide slope protection for these structures. HydroTurf Z was used for both pump stations, and HydroTurf CS was used on the intake structure.
